The place

An authentic place

The Domaine is located on the edge of Aspach-Michelbach, a small Alsatian village renowned for its beautiful lake classified as a nature reserve.

Taking the driveway that goes up from the road, you will arrive in a huge courtyard framed by imposing farmhouses with wide eaves. On your left, an old dovecote reigns on a small island of greenery punctuated by boxwood and flowers.

The Domaine Saint-Loup is a large farmhouse converted into an 3*** hotel, an independent 3*** cottage for 14 people, reception rooms, workspaces and conviviality, pretty tables under the trees, a large festive marquee of 210m2…

It is also a conservatory orchard of more than 50 apple varieties, 20 hectares of forest and meadows bordered by ponds, a 3D target archery course in nature – with the Vosges in the background.

Paradise for strollers, sportsmen and small lovers of mud puddles, the area will make the ideal playground for young and old. The orchard provides a sense of escape and serves as an idyllic setting for secular ceremonies.

Whether you come alone, in tribe, in boots or in evening dresses,
in quick passage or in extended stay, you will appreciate the calm of nature, the friendly spirit of the place and much more!

Domaine Saint-Loup is also the original story of a family that has owned the farm since the 15th century.

The castle of Michelbach belonged to the Reinach who held the village in fief of the Habsburgs from 1482. In 1875, the village was destroyed by fire. A farm called “Schlosshof” was built on the remains of the castle….

Over the centuries the farm was destroyed and rebuilt several times because of successive wars. The orchard was planted between 1954 and 1970. In 1979, Bernard and Marie-Berthe de Reinach opened the place to agritourism and the area welcomes its first visitors.

Everything here keeps track of these nature lovers, in turn tamers of animals, self-taught builders, painters-draftsmen, gourmet cooks and riders emeritus…
